The college has consistently been an active force in the neighboring community as well as in health concerns on a broader basis. Under the auspices of the college a mobile clinic has been visiting shopping centers throughout the San Francisco Bay area. providing screening examinations and information on podiatry and good foot care. This same mobile clinic has traveled through the farming areas of California to provide foot care to migrant farmworkers and their families. Another program which will make a substantial contribution to improved community health is a pilot program established by students at the California College of Podiatric Medicine to give the students practical experience in treating podiatric athletic problems. This unique program has been established for track athletes expressing an interest in better health and physical fitness.
