I thank the Senator for yielding this time. I do not rise in opposition to the adoption of the resolution offered by the Senator from Minnesota. but I think we should not take this action without at least taking a look at the context in which it may be read by other people. The Senator from Minnesota refers to the Government of Austria responding at the point of a gun and responding under the pressure of terrorism as a justification for our action in asking the Government of Austria to review their action in closing the refugee camp. I fully concur with that statement. although I think there may be people in this world who wonder if the U.S. Government is in a position to point the finger of shame after the last 10 years of action in our own country. when we have yielded to civil terrorism within our own country. and as recently as the Wounded Knee incident in South Dakota. or the BIA terrorism in the District of Columbia of last December.
