Mr. President. on previous occasions I have drawn the attention of the Senate to the case of Prof. Benjamin Levich. a distinguished electrochemist seeking to emigrate from the Soviet Union. Sadly. a new form of repressionan especially cruel onehas fallen upon this unfortunate man whose only "crime" was applying for a visa to Israel. His son. Evgeny. who suffers from serious medical problems and who had been under treatment at the Moscow Cancer Dispensary. has apparently been kidnaped and sent to Siberia. He is cut off from any kind of communication with his family. I appeal to my colleagues to do what they can to help secure the release of the Levich family from the repression and intimidation that surrounds them. so that they may begin a new life in Israel.
