I rise in support of House Resolution 382. a resolution to disapprove Reorganization Plan No. 2 of In considering this disapproval resolution and its accompanying reorganization plan. we are confronted today with such diverse. but vastly important. issues as drug abuse control. the entry of illegal aliens into our country. and. ultimately. the integrity of the legislative process. Reorganization Plan No. 2 deals basically with two areas of government operations. The first of these is drug abuse control. Very briefly. this reorganization plan would establish within the Department of Justice a Drug Enforcement Administration rhich would absorb the existing Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. the Office of Drug Abuse Law Enforcement. and the Office of National Narcotics Intelligence. all presently located in the Justice Department.
