There may be amendments to be considered. either on the floor or the other House or in conference to meet his direction. but I think the direction you are taking is correct. I think the fear of discrimination is overblown. I think the real problem is so overwhelming that fear of discriminationthe fact is the one thing this Congress cannot do is leave the illegal alien as illegal. And those who say we should leave it where it stands are simply beyond the realm of logic. Something has to be done to remove from the alien the burden of illegality. the exploitation and remove from the employer the benefit he is getting from it.
