President. recently Dave Brody. director of the Washington Office of the AntiDefamation League of Bnai Brith. wrote a letter to the editor of the Washington Evening Star which was published on December 26. Mr. Brody comments on the unconscionable exit feeallegedly levied to support educationwhich has been assessed on Jews seeking to leave the Soviet Union for Israel. His letter demonstrates beyond any doubt that the purpose of this tax is to prevent the emigration of Soviet Jews to Israel rather than to support Soviet education.
