Speaker. is not to forget the matter or to dismiss it as this administration seems to have done. That would be exactly what the Soviet Government would want. Rather. the answer is to pursue the issue with determination so that the Soviet Government cannot mistake the fact that the U.S. Government is interested in the plight of the Soviet Jews. and that our Government is noting carefully the restrictions imposed by Soviet authorities in denying visas to its citizens. Mr. Speaker. that is what I have requested President Nixon to do in a second letter I have written to him.
