Session #92 · 1971–73

Speech #920212772

For me it was a special emotional moment because of an incident which occurred about 2 years ago. In November 1969. I was asked to participate in a picket line in front of the Soviet mission in New York City protesting the persecution of Soviet Jews by the Soviet Government and in particular the. imprisonment of 25 Jews for alleged antiSoviet acts which consisted of their desire to emigrate to Israel. Along with other participants I picked up a poster bearing the name of one of the imprisoned men. It was simply chance that the poster I received bore the name of Boris Kochubiyevski.
