H.R. 12067. which totals $3.003.461.000. We have for consideration today this bill as reported out by the Appropriations Committee with a total of $2.888.635.000. a reduction of $1.454.000.000 from the administrations request. It provides funds for the foreign economic and military assistance programs. several international financial institutions. the ExportImport Bank. the Peace Corps and other smaller appropriations for administration of the Ryukyu Islands. assistance to Cuban refugees in the United States and assistance for migration and refugees administered by the State Department. The largest portion of appropriations in this bill relates to foreign economic and military assistance which is financed under titles I and II of the bill. I firmly believe that we have cut these requests far too much. that we have been penny wise and pound foolish in our action.
