There is no doubt that the refugees are probably better off in the camps than they were in Pakistan. There is also no doubt that they are better off there than they were in Calcutta. As a matter of fact. I saw barbed wire being put around refugee camps in Calcutta. not to keep the refugees in. but to keep the residents of Calcutta out. I can detect no evidence that they are going to leave. I know of no basis on which we can think they are going to leave. and I do not see how we are going to let them stay there. 9 million strong. while we fuss about it.
