I would like simply to join in the expression of grave concern expressed by my friend and colleague from California on the matter of aid to Pakistan and the plight of the refugees from Pakistan and within Pakistan. This is one of the most heartrending and tragic situations people upon our planet have ever faced. certainly one of the worst in modern times. I am delighted that my colleague has expressed his concern so forcefully and eloquently. I wish that more Americans were aroused to the awfulness of the situation there. It is almost beyond imagination. and I think that is why so few people are as deeply concerned as they really should be.
