Mr. Speaker. the ancient problem of antiSemitism persists in modem dress despite the lessons of history and the efforts of concerned humanity. Last November. I visited South America at the request of the distinguished chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary. The committees concern was principally focused on the impact that political change in Chile would have on the U.S. immigration policies. Argentina was among the countries I visited. It was obvious to me. despite attempts by some members of the community to convince me otherwise. that antiSemitism continues. sometimes in a most virulent form. Events of the last week have seen the rise of another military junta to power in Argentina and its designation of Army Commander Alejandro A.
