The Senator from Kansas mentioned the question of asylum. He specifically made reference to the possibility of refugees from Vietnam. Under the provisions of the amendment. and having mentioned possibly South Dakota as a location. let me say that as one resident of South Dakota. if it would bring about an earlier end to the war in Vietnam. I think I could say with complete certainty for the people of my State. that we would much prefer to have a few Vietnamese coming to South Dakota to stop the flow of young South Dakotans going to the jungles of Vietnam. if that is the choice.
