The resolution will be received and appropriately referred. and will be printed in the RECORD in accordance with the Senators request. The resolutionSenate Resolution 456was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. as follows: S. Rs. 456 That the Committee on the Judiciary. or any duly authorized subcommittee thereof. shall. under sections 134(a) and 136 of the Legislative Reorganization Act of 1946. and in accordance with its jurisdiction specified by rule XXV of the Standing Rules of the Senate. make a full and complete study and investigation of(1) the fees being charged by private persons for procuring the introduction into Congress of private relief bills for the benefit of aliens in order to stay deportation proceedings brought by United States officials against such aliens. and (2) the need for any change in the present rules concerning the effect of the introduction and consideration of such bills upon the staying of those proceedings. Sec. 2. The Committee shall report to the Senate at the earliest practicable date the results of Its study and investigation. together with its recommendations for any necessary legislation.
