Mr. President. one of the fundamental causes of the trouble which has kept the Middle East in turmoil for more than a generation is the teaching of hatred that has been inflicted upon young children in the schools of many Arab countries. Unfortunately. some of this miseducation has also infected schools in UNRWAUnited Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East--camps. where teaching materials have tended to implant hatred of Israel into the minds of the students. The United States bears a heavy responsibility in this connection. because we supply the major part of the money which supports UNRWA.
