Session #91 · 1969–71

Speech #910034937

Ward Lange on his reelection to a seventh term as national chairman of the Steuben Society. The strength of the society lies in its commitment to protect politicial liberty by preserving equal opportunity for all Americans. The major legislative goal of the society for this year is an amendment to the U.S. immigration law to secure fair treatment for all northern Europeans who have found it more difficult to come to the United States since passage of the 1965 act. In this connection the Steuben Society has joined forces with the American Irish National Immigration Committee to support this legislation. As a cosponsor of this bill to amend the immigration law. I look forward to working for the same legislative goal and I wish the society continued strength to represent Americans of German descent during this golden jubilee week.
