Last week (Nov. 6) he died at age 82a founder. senior member and chairman of the board of directors of Grossmans Inc.. a family commercial empire. During most of those 82 years. he was a living memorial to his father. The latter emigrated from Podeski. Russia in 1890paying $17 for his passage. And within just six monthsworking as a peddler with a sack on his backsaved enough money to send for his family.
