Speech #900293714

Mr. Speaker. last July 3. Subcommittee No. 1 of the House Judiciary Committee held hearings on legislation to remedy inequities in the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965. Members of the American Irish National Immigration Committee came from throughout the country to present their views to the subcommittee. I include for the RECORD the testimony of the Very Reverend Donald M. OCallaghan of New York. vice chairman of the American Irish National Immigration Committee. I regret that the Judiciary Committee has not yet taken any further action on this important question. My bill. H.R. 16593. has the cosponsorship of some 36 Members of Congress.
