Speech #900282127

They should count themselves fortunate to have received from their parents and grandparents their oftvoiced stress of the advantages of American citizenship. These young people are blessed indeed to have grown up with their elders example of obedience to law and their patriotic selfassumption of the role of guardians of our treasured blessings of liberty. For nowhere in America can one find anyone more loyal or more patriotic than the citizen who came here as an immigrant and has established himself as a proud and respected American. Youth about to be given the voting privilege should ponder well their treasured heritage and harken to the words spoken by those who have been forced to earn their American citizenship and who now appreciate its significance. I wish all of these new voters well as they enter into these new responsibilities of citizenship which I hope will soon be theirs and I hope they enjoy to the fullest the blessings which will come to them as they become fully recognized adult citizens.
