The Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. like the present Bureau of Narcotics and Drug Abuse Control. will continue in close liaison with each of these organizations. The new Bureau will also maintain close liaison with the Bureau of Customs. the Internal Revenue Service. and the Secret Service. Such cooperation should be no more difficult than the present excellent cooperation that exists between the Bureau of Customs in Treasury and the Immigration and Naturalization Service in the Department of Justice. The Department of Justice. through its Criminal Division and its U.S. attorneys. has prosecuted cases for both the Bureau of Narcotics and the Bureau of Drug Abuse Control. Through its Bureau of Prisons. the Department of Justice also participates in the administration of the Narcotic Addict Rehabilitation Act of 1966. with prison hospitals which it operates along with the Public Health Service in Lexington and Fort Worth.
