Mr. President. I introduce. for appropriate reference. a bill to provide immigrant visas for victims of the earthquakes that recently devastated parts of Sicily. All of us in the Congress. and all Americans. were shocked and saddened to learn of these disasters. We mourn the hundreds who perished in them. now we must offer our help to the thousands who survive in anguish and destitution. The American Government through our Ambassador to Italy has joined the Italian Government in its relief efforts. We have made available temporary housing. food supplies and medical services. And we have pledged to help those who choose to remain in Sicily to rebuild their homes and lives.
