This delightful development surprised most of the members of the subcommittee and made a very favorable impression on all Senators present. These same Senators have endorsed the temporary housing program and have expressed their displeasure and opposition to the Office of Economic Opportunitys termination of this worthwhile project. This project. part of the overall California migrant master plan. is one poverty program which is demonstrating visible. practical. and successful accomplishments. It has obviously accomplished one of the main purposes which we desired and which. at the outset. was one of the established priorities of the entire OEO program. It created an attitude of pride among the migrants themselves. and all with whom it was discussed. and all spoke very enthusiastically about the successful project. It should also be pointed out. Mr.
