This program is designed to help overcome the language barrier which faces Spanishspeaking Puerto Rican migrants in Chicago. I would like to take this opportunity to commend Mr. Walter C. Kurz. the able chairman of the Robert R. McCormick Charitable Trust. who made the announcement that the trust would contribute a major portion of the money needed to fund the Spanishlanguage program for Chicago policemen. The Robert R. McCormick Charitable Trust was established for the betterment and welfare of the people of Chicago by the will of Col.
