Session #89 · 1965–67

Speech #890139643

That point has been understood. It was brought out by me. when I introduced the bill. The Senator from North Carolina has strong feelings on the matter. The Senator from Mississippi has opposed it in the past 4 or 5 days of debate during which the bill has been before the Senatenamely. that we are going to have an increase of 40.000 or 50.000 immigrants under this bill. That is recognized. and if there is any Member of the Senate who is under the impression that that has not been brought out. I would like to clear the air on that point right now.
