I am sorry there are not present more Senators. from New York. Connecticut. and Ohio. who could state of their own knowledge that their producers have had to avail themselves of supplemental labor from time to time. We are cutting off our noses to spite our faces. and if we permit this situation to continue. we are doing exactly the opposite of what the President said when he asked us to please change the immigration laws so as to permit large numbers of additional people whose skills are needed to come into our country. in order that the country may prosper more greatly.
