Mr. Speaker. last week it was my privilege to isit with a group of 15 students from Chile who are attending the University of Texas on a student exchange program. They spent 2 days in Washington. visiting our Capitol. the State Department. and other historic spots of interest in this area. It was my pleasure to tell these young people that we here in the United States feel a special bond with the people of Chile. Their country. like ours. is a nation of immigrantsa melting pot of Spanish. German. Italian. French. Swiss. and other nationalities. Their idea of selfgovernment closely parallels that of our country.
