Mr. Chairman. I am one of those members of the House Committee on Appropriations referred to on page 8 of the committee report who think that joint committee mechanisms generally speaking are not so good. As far as the Joint Committee on Immigration and Nationality Policy is concerned. which has been discussed here now for some while. I intend to support the committee. But I rise at this time to talk to you about another joint committee. This joint committee is to be found on page 9 of the bill. and is known as the Joint Committee on Reduction of Nonessential Federal Expenditures--an appropriation to remain available in the amount of $29.750.
