The various committees of the House had studied and reported. that is. given approval to 580 measures originating in the House and 61 originating in the Senate. Senate committees had reported 298 measures of Senate origin. 192 of House origin. Both Houses had completed action on 189 public billsbills affecting the general public interest as distinguished from private bills for the relief of individual inequitiessuch as hardship cases under the immigration laws or claims against the Government. A grand total of 812 measures had been passed by the House and 699 by the Senate. these figures include bills. joint resolutions. concurrent resolutions. and what are called simple resolutions. There were 95 rollcalls in the House. calling on members to stand up and be counted on public issues. and 205 rollealls in the Senate.
