Session #88 · 1963–65

Speech #880041626

Since the inception of the American aid programs. Israel has received approximately $880 million. With these funds. the Government has built roads. schools. health facilities. factories. and towns. It has fed the hungry. supported the unemployed. and settled the immigrant. It was money well spent by us and wisely used by the recipients for the greatest benefit to the most people in this new promised land. The most appropriate use of foreign aid money by Israel could well have served as a model for other recipient nations to follow. Although assistance is still received from the United States. Israel has begun a technical assistance program of its own.
