But I must also say that over the years I have been deeply concerned about the failure to obtain any reconciliation in that area in regard to the refugee problems. the boundary problems. and the problems between the Arab States themselvesbecause there arm problems between themand also the failure to obtain a reconciliation between certain of the Arab States and the State of Israel. It seems to me that the following should be clearly understood: First. that U.S. foreign policy supports the territorial integrity. independence. and freedom of the State of Israel. Second. that the United States supports the legitimate aspirations of the people of the Arab nations for their sovereignty.
