Speaker. a refugee from East Germany. whose "sightseeing" tour in West Berlin wound up in my hometown of Bay City. Mich.. has set an example with his expression of gratitude and hospitality. Mr. Ditmar Kubb. a 23yearold East German. who got out from behind East Berlins Red Curtain on a "sightseeing" excuse recently entertained 500 Bay City residents who befriended him since his arrival in this country. The event was on the occasion of his call for duty with the U.S. Navy to fulfill his reservist obligation.
