Speech #870154734

There on a patch of land that represented the outskirts of Brooklyn. lay General Krzyzanowski for many years. Later on. the Steinwehr Post 192 of the Grand Army of the Republic raised a headstone in tribute to Gen. Wladimir Krzyzanowski. which can be seen today at the Polish Roman Catholic Union Museum in Chicago. Significant also is the fact that some 10 years after General Krzyzanowskis death. a great wave of immigration brought many Poles out to settle and live in what is known today as South Brooklyn. So within hailing distance of thousands of his own kind. General Krzyzanowski peacefully reposedafter a life of heroism. sacrifice. and patriotism for his adopted country.
