It was on this day. 21 years ago. that the Soviet Army took over the independent State of Lithuania by force. 2 days later. the Russians occupied the other two Baltic States. Latvia and Estonia. As if the snuffing out of the liberty of these three nations was not a sufficiently brutal act. the Soviets just 1 year later. on June 15. 194120 years ago todaycompleted their first mass deportations of citizens from the three Baltic States to prison and work camps within the interior of Russia.
