When the judge asked him. "How is the President of the United States elected?" the Russians reply threw the court into a paroxysm of laughter. "By the Democratic Party." he said. The answer probably erased all doubts about the immigrants eligibility for citizenship. but if any remained they soon were dispelled. The next question. who is "the greatest man in the country?" brought the immediate reply: "The Honorable CARL VINSON. Representative from this district." As his popularity grew at home.
