Session #86 · 1959–61

Speech #860273331

The President then mentions the Antarctic Treaty. That is the pending business before the Senate. The President refers. next. to a liberalization of the immigration laws. We have made attempts to do that. We brought a bill to the floor of the Senate. I should be glad to have further meetings with the appropriate committees on that subject. I have talked to the minority leader about it several times. I have discussed with him the matter of the liberalization of the immigration laws on several occasions. I should be glad to contribute anything I can to see to it that consideration is given to that subject. I believe that covers generally the items the President mentions.
