I feel this information would be of interest to my colleagues who share my concern for the success of Cubas new government: FIDEL CAsTRo Ruz Fidel Castro. the victor in a 2year armed struggle with the administration of President Fulgencio Batista. had been in open. armed rebellion against the Cuban Government since he led his "26th of July" forces to a landing in Cubas Oriente Province on Born on his fathers farm in Oriente Province on August 13. 1926. Castro is the son of a selfmade Spanish immigrant and the fifth of nine children. After receiving his secondary education at the Jesuitrun Colegio Bel6n in Havana. he entered the law school of the University of Havana. He soon became active in campus politics and was elected president of his law school class.
