Session #85 · 1957–59

Speech #850265748

I realize that really I mean just the opposite. My experience has been one of being enveloped in an impenetrable smog. I have had three primary sources of information with regard to the Arab refugee problem. One of them was by contact with the highest available Zionist official. who gives assurance that his government has been prepared at any and all times to provide resettlement of the dispossessed Arabs in Israel. to requite them for the lands which they have lost. or assist them in resettling in new territory. My second point of contact with this problem lay in the numerous conversations with representatives of the Arab nations with whom I and other Members of the United States Congress talked during the meetings of the Interparliamentary Union held In London last September.
