Mr. President. on June 26. 1957. the Senate passed S. 1082. and on August 20. 1957. it passed S. 2062 and S. 2124. These bills would grant to the minor children adopted or to be adopted by citizens of the United States the status of nonquota immigrants. which is the status normally enjoyed by the alien minor children of United States citizens. On March 18. 1958. these bills were passed by the House of Representatives. each with an amendment to provide that the natural parents of the beneficiaries shall not. by virtue of such parentage. be accorded any right. privilege. or status under the Immigration and Nationality Act. This language is acceptable. and I move that the Senate concur in the House amendment to the bills S. 1082. S. 2062. and S. 2124.
