Mr. President. every Senators office receives many calls from his State in regard to visas and passports. My office is no exception. and during the past several years I have noticed a marked improvement in the speed with which passports are processed. For some time I have wished to express my appreciation for the fine service we receive from the Director of the Passport Office. Miss Frances G. Knight. and her staff. I know personally of occasions when citizens have telephoned me from Kansas. and have stated they were on their way to New York. and hoped to have a passport on arrival.
