It should be realized that both parties blame the United States for their present difficulties. it must be understood that both factions have imposing arguments to advance in favor of their respective causes. I shall not offer specific recommendations concerning a settlement of this issue. but I would be derelict in my responsibility as a United States Senator if I did not warn the committee that unless the sources or friction between the Arab world and the infant State of Israel are promptly recognized. and an active effort made to resolve them. world war III may find its origin at this crossroads of Asia.
