Has not this young state clearly demonstrated how seriously and efficiently she has been working and progressing during the past 8 years? Israels record is proof of her aim for peaceful existence to carry on her programs of agricultural and industrial improvement. In her struggle Israel aspires to become again the promised land for thousands and thousands of refugees. so that all people can say. with the Prophet Ezekiel: This land that was untilled Is become as a garden of pleasure. and the cities that were abandoned and desolate and destroyed are peopled and fenced. Israel has become the most progressive and energetic state in the Middle East. In the last 8 years more than 400 new agricultural settlements have been created in a small area. compared to less than 300 in the 70 years prior to Israels coming into existence.
