Session #84 · 1955–57

Speech #840071368

Salk is of the Jewish faith. To the great gloryand the overwhelming benefitof America. Dr. Salks parents were not kept from these shores by a quota system. Nor was he deprived of an education because of its costs or prevented from realizing his full abilities because of religious prejudice. The lesson that Dr. Salks story teaches us about doing away with prejudice has been told in a very poignant editorial written by two of Americas beloved labor leaders. Earl W. Jimerson and Patrick E. Gorman. president and secretarytreasurer. respectively. of the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North AmericaAFL.
