Let me say that my only complaintand I hope the Senator from Connecticut will not take exception to thisis that for 2 years we were led to believe that all was well. and that the administrative complexities of the law were being ironed out. But now. after the administrations very humiliating experience. one which the administration would like to forgetI refer to the appointment by the administration of a Republican to come to Washington to help administer the Refugee Relief Act. and then to find in the rules a technicality for dismissing him. namely. a provision that such persons could be hired for only 90 days. with the result that Mr. Corsi was sent back to New Yorkall at once. just to make the record a little more palatable to the American people. these 10 amendments are brought forth. Let me say that I welcome the 10 amendments. and I believe they should be adopted. and as a cosponsor of the Lehman bill I wish to say that we shall be more than happy to join with our friends on the opposite side of the aisle in having these amendments adopted.
