Session #84 · 1955–57

Speech #840036323

On this 164th anniversary of the Polish constitution devotion to freedom remains a prime quality of the Polish people. nourished by decades of resistance to oppression. In the path of years of misery and terror the Poles have had one burning desire. to gain their lost liberties. In this. they should have the unstinted aid of all free peoples. We Americans must continue to do everything humanly possible to aid the oppressed and defeated but unconquered people of Poland and the refugees and exiles therefrom residing in other countries. Such an objective is in accordance with our American tradition and the flaming passion for liberty that animates the people of both nations. Faith in God and freedom never die.
