I do not believe the Senator from New Jersey realizes the serious situation confronting those who raise sheep in the United States. The number of sheep raised in the United States has constantly been decreasing. The sheepherders covered by this bill are now in the United States. but efforts are being made to have them deported. The farmers who have sheep and who produce wool cannot get anyone else to do the work. because there is a shortage of that kind of help. No one else wants such a job. This bill and the next one on the calendar. introduced by the Senator from Nevada . deal with the same problem.
