Stephens Church in Arlington to be one of Father Murphys assistants. just in time to take part in the ceremony of laying the cornerstone of the splendid new church. and stayed there until he entered the Army as a chaplain. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know him have a proud memory to cheirsh and hand down to our descendants. I take pleasure in the thought that the name of Washington. already so glorious in the history of America. was held on high this time by one whose father and mother had come to America as immigrants from Ireland.
