I do not know if there is any truth to that. there may be some. but they come in as wetbacks. over the Rio Grande River. They do not come in through the legal channels. the legal ports of entry. This resolution seeks to prevent those wetbacks and those Communists from coming into the United States by having the selected men examined by the Immigration Service. both as to their health and as to their character. to determine whether or not they can come into the United States. If they are found to be unreliable. if it is thought that they might do injury to this country. if they are unhealthy. they are not permitted to come into this country. We are hoping that there is going to be an agreement with Mexico. but I can assure you this: Unless this resolution is passed. there will not be any fair agreement with Mexico.
