Session #82 · 1951–53

Speech #820245054

I desire to take but half a minute to tell the Senator from Minnesota that I wish to associate myself with the powerful argument he has made. not only today. but in previous days. on this immigration bill. I think time will prove it to be one of the historic arguments in this Congress. I commend not only the Senator from Minnesota. but also the Senator from New York . the Senator from Rhode Island . the Senator from Connecticut . and the Senator from Michigan for the inspiring exhibitions of keeping faith with what I consider to be true Americanism which they have given throughout the debate on the immigration bill. It is a great pleasure to me to be associated with them in this fight to sustain the veto by the President of the immigration bill.
