The Eightieth Congress passed legislation which proved to be highly inequitable toward various nationalities and groups and provided for only 200.000. This bill now under consideration will remedy the defects and limitations of the existing legislation and be a great step forward from a humanitarian angle and also place our country in a status of doing our just share toward the persons displaced by WorldWar II. This bill also provides that incoming displaced persons must be guaranteed. before immigrating. that they have jobs. a place to live. and otherwise provided for by relatives and sponsors in this country. It is necessary legislation and should pass.
