Speech #810057970

Under the guidance of their torch of freedom the Illustrious sons of Poland marched forth in defense of a cause that was just. even to crossing the troubled waters of the Atlantic in frail boats in defense of our own country during the discouraging days of the American Revolution. Yes. they cherished a great ideal. they fought hard. and many died young that we today may be privileged the greatest blessings on earth. The United States of America. sometimes called the melting pot of the world. has been enriched with the contributions made by our immigrants that came from the cradle of European democracy. Wherever the Polish people have taken domicile in the United States. their citizenry has proved second to none. They have taken an active part in education. religion. law. civic. social. and governmental affairs.
